Groundbreaking Ceremony held at Cohn Elementary in Port Allen

On Wednesday, May 21st, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the beginning of construction for the new Cohn Elementary School. Cohn Elementary School will consist of construction of 3 additional classroom buildings adding approximately 60,000 – 70,000 square feet to the school campus. The scope of the project also includes the strategic demolition of existing structures to accommodate the 3 new buildings to be added. The buildings will be comprised of classrooms for elementary and middle school students, a dedicated library building, and a new gymnasium. This project is still in design.
