Groundbreaking for Southside Elementary and Junior High School

The groundbreaking for the New Southside Elementary and Junior High School took place on September 10, 2020. The 28-acre site will consist of all new construction except for one remaining building which survived the 2016 floods.

The new school will be a combined elementary and junior high school. Each school will have their own dedicated wings that will include mirrored administration rooms and classrooms as well as a new gym, cafeteria, and covered/uncovered parking.
