The project at St. Elizabeth Hospital consisted of two parts – the 48,000-square-foot addition and the renovation of the existing hospital. The construction houses the expanded emergency room and emergency radiology services, while the second floor has 17 new patient rooms, specialized nurse stations, and room for future expansion. The renovation portion of the project spanned 2 ½ years as several departments moved into the new construction upon its completion. This renovation gave the existing hospital a major facelift, which added a new outpatient entrance and waiting room. The finished product allows the hospital to better serve the growing community of Gonzales.
